Recalling from Freshman Drawing how engaging your decorative sensibility could be along with a certain tension and even struggle when it came to the observed. I was just looking at the blowup of the bottom picture when my niece crawled onto my bed and asked, "What is that?" I said, "I don't know yet. But it's art."
